How to Upgrade to Version 4

Downloading and Installing Version 4
Current customers may fill out our free trial download form to download and install version 4.  Subscription Plan members may fill out our Subscription Plan Upgrade form to get their free upgrade.

Converting Your Version 3 Database
Scrip Pro 4 (version 4) will only upgrade and convert version 3 databases. If you have a database from version 2, you will not be able to upgrade your database and must create a new one instead.  Once you've decided to use version 4, you may convert your database (note that version 3 CANNOT read a version 4 database).  To convert your database, follow these steps.

1. After installing, launch Scrip Pro 4. From the 'Open Database' screen, open your existing version 3 database by clicking the 'Browse' button - browse to your database location and select the database file.
   
   
    
2. After clicking 'Open', the following screen will appear. A copy of your database will be created, and your version 3 database will NOT be changed. You will notice that the new version 4 database will be automatically renamed for you with a '_v4' after the name of your database, and placed in your 'C:\Program Files\Scrip Pro Software\Scrip Pro 4' folder.  Click 'Convert' to start the conversion process.
   
   
    
3. When the conversion is done, the button will change to 'Continue'. Click 'Continue' to open the database.  You can begin entering data as usual.  (DO NOT enter real data in version 4 if you have not committed to using or purchasing it).

You can convert all of your version 3 databases this same way. If you desire to
move your version 4 database to a new location or rename your database, you may do
so manually at any time after the conversion.
