Step 1: Downloading and Installing Version 6
Fill out our download form to download and install version 6. Please be aware of the terms and conditions stated on this page for using the software.
Step 2: Obtaining a Serial Number and Registering
- If you are already enrolled with Scrip Pro and if you are prompted to register the software, you will need to login and click the 'My Account' link on the Dashboard to obtain your serial number. If you are not prompted, it means it has used the serial number from your previous version 5 installation.
- If you are not already enrolled with Scrip Pro, you will need to do so in order to register the software. Click here to enroll. Enrollment is free - after filling out the form, you may click the 'My Account' link on the Dashboard to obtain your serial number, and you will also receive a welcome email with the serial number included.
Step 3: Open Your Database
After installing, launch Scrip Pro 6. From the 'Open Database' screen, click the 'Browse' button - browse to your database location and select the database file. If you're not sure where your database was located, simply launch your previous version and you will see the path of your database in the 'Last Accessed' field.
Converting Your Version 3 or 4 Database
Scrip Pro 6 (version 6) will upgrade and convert version 3 or 4 databases. Version 5 database do not need converting at this time. All of your data will remain. If you have a database from version 2, you will not be able to upgrade your database and must create a new one instead. Once you've decided to use version 6, you may convert your database (note that versions 3 or 4 CANNOT read a version 6 database). To convert your database, follow these steps.
- After installing, launch Scrip Pro 6. From the 'Open Database' screen, open your existing version 3 or 4 database by clicking the 'Browse' button - browse to your database location and select the database file.
- After clicking 'Open', the following screen will appear. A copy of your database will be created, and your previous version database will NOT be changed. You will notice that the new version 6 database will be automatically renamed for you with a '_v6' after the name of your database, and placed in the same location as your old database (make sure you have access to write to this location - Click 'Browse if you wish to change this location). Click 'Convert' to start the conversion process.

- When the conversion is done, the button will change to 'Continue'. Click 'Continue' to open the database. You can begin entering data as usual.
You can convert all of your previous version databases this same way. If you desire to move your version 6 database to a new location or rename your database, you may do so manually at any time after the conversion.
