Credit, or tuition credit, is a percentage of the Contribution, or profit, generated from a particular family.  Anytime you change the credit percentage (either by updating a person or through the system properties), it will change it retroactively for those persons.  The program recalculates the credit for each sales transaction as a percentage of the contribution.
